Meet our two new recruits at Nurture Marketing agency in Norwich, Norfolk:
Matilda Pilkington
Design & Content Manager
Matilda joins us from in-house marketing roles at Pure Resourcing Solutions, Zoological Society of East Anglia and Commercial Trust with experience spanning both B2B and B2C sectors including recruitment, hospitality and leisure and property finance. Her specialisms include digital tactics such as email marketing, web, analytics, design and copywriting.
What job did you want to do when you were at school?
I wanted to be a vet when I was very little, and then a teacher of some kind, possibly chemistry.
What three things are on your bucket list?
1. Own a smallholding or a farm, maybe chickens or rescuing animals
2. Live abroad again, even for only a short period of time
3. Learn how to ski
What was your first ever job?
I was front of house at our local Chinese takeaway – free dinners were amazing
Which three people would you invite to a dinner party, alive or dead and why?
No one, more food for me 😊
Who inspires you? Why?
Taylor Swift – she’s built a musical collection that I love, and has a good eye for marketing!
What is your favourite country you have visited?
Italy, I studied out there for a term of my masters degree and fell even more in love with the history and architecture, plus the food is amazing.
What does a typical Sunday look like for you?
I usually get up with the dog and enjoy a coffee in the garden in the morning before going out for a walk to a National Trust spot, and maybe watching a movie with a takeaway in the evening.
Why did you want to work at Nurture Marketing?
I met Rechenda at a networking event a few years ago and she made such an impression on me, we stayed in touch and when she had the right level role I jumped at the opportunity to see what the life of a marketing agency had to offer.
Amy Patterson
Senior Design & Content Manager
Amy joins us from Norfolk Chambers of Commerce where she was marketing manager. She is an agency powerhouse, having previously worked for FOUR Agency and Media Gems. She also worked inhouse for accountants Farnell Clarke.
What job did you want to do when you were at school
My aspirations changed throughout school. Firstly, I wanted to be a ‘tillist’ in a supermarket and then I moved onto better aspirations of a solicitor and then onto teacher.
What three things are on your bucket list?
Take my little boy to Disneyland when he’s older
Own an BMW i8
Own a second property to rent out or air B&B
What was your first ever job?
Packing strawberries at a local strawberry farm
Which three people would you invite to a dinner party, alive or dead and why?
I lost my dog back in February in 2022 at the grand age of 14, so I’d love to have one more evening with him and I’d give him his favourite dinner! Mary Earps the Women’s Football goalkeeper – she is super talented and a true inspiration for all young girls aspiring to play sport and I want all the goss! And lastly, Jamie Oliver so he could cook the dinner!
Who inspires you? Why?
All mums in business! Building a career and growing a family is tough. So many mums are bossing both here in Norfolk!
What is your favourite country you have visited?
This is a no brainer for me, Mexico I’ve been twice and for two very special occasions. One was my brothers wedding and second was my honeymoon!
What does a typical Sunday look like for you?
I love a chilled start to a Sunday morning. After a week of trying to get a toddler out of the house on time, it’s nice to have a relaxed morning. Pancakes are often on the menu for breakfast in our household on a Sunday. Followed by a nice walk either on the beach or through woodlands. In winter, the day will typically finish with a roast dinner and movie snuggled up on the sofa as a family.
Why did you want to work at Nurture Marketing?
I’ve admired Rechenda and her work from afar for a while. When the opportunity arose to work with her, and Matilda I couldn’t resist! Since day one I have not looked back! Working in a creative, supportive, inspiring workplace is something I’ve really missed. Working in an agency environment is where I’m at my happiest.
